Using symbols to manifest desires is an ancient form of magic.
For thousands of years, enlightened individuals used symbols to project, focus, and amplify their energy in order to manifest success, wealth, love, power, etc.
Do you want to discover the realm of symbols and attract what you want into reality? Do you want to supercharge your manifestation prowess with the power of your subconscious mind?
Then read on to find out how you can use symbols to manifest your desires.
Before we delve into the specifics, let’s find out what a symbol is.
What Is a Symbol?
Symbol is anything that evokes an intuitive understanding of reality.
To quote an artist, “Symbol is something that connects thinking and feeling.”
Symbols bridge the gap between the heart and the mind.
They induce interdimensionality the way psychedelics induce euphoria.
And on the subtle levels of existence, symbols can project your desires into manifestation.
What is the Mechanism Behind Using Symbols to Manifest Desires?
Think of your desire as the sunlight. It’s sort of everywhere — diffuse and nebulous. You can’t quite catch it or see it.
But if you let the sun rays pass through a magnifying glass, the energy of the sun becomes focused and amplified.
It happens because you focus the heat of the sun on one specific and small point — until the heat reaches its peak and starts a fire.
Think about it — the sunlight that’s warm and benign can become so intense that it starts a fire!
That’s an example of how focusing the energy on one point can create a dramatic change in the environment.
Symbols work as the magnifying glass for your desires. They help you focus your energy, triggering a change in your reality.
How to Find the Symbol to Manifest Your Desire
A symbol is something that represents your desire without necessarily giving it away.
So if you’re using a vision board, you probably have pictures on it, for the most part. For example, your vision board might have pictures of
- your dream house
- your dream car
- children or a child (if you’re visualizing having children)
- the places you want to visit
- money (or a specific amount you want)
- etc.
Those are not symbols.
Symbols are an intuitive representation of your desire, and they have to be personal to you.
For example, a picture of a baby is not a symbol. But an image of a sprout can be a symbol of a new life you want to invite into this world. Or an image of fertile soil can be a symbol for a fertile, nurturing womb.
Sometimes symbols sort of fall into your lap.
I was once walking down the street and found a stone with the word “courage” on it. It was during a difficult and confusing time in my life when I didn’t know which direction to take, so I was frozen with fear of making the wrong decision.
I literally found courage! Since then every time I felt uncertain or needed a little courage I would hold the stone and remind myself that I am always supported and guided, and that all the courage I need is already within me.
This is an example of a more literal symbol. It was a physical object and it had a word written on it. Still, it was what I needed at that moment in my life, and it helped me overcome the fear of moving on.
How to Create Sigil Symbols to Manifest Your Desires
You can also create personalized symbols for your desires. These types of symbols are called sigils — or pictorial representations of what you desire.
Using sigils is a powerful form of modern magic that’s simple, accessible, and fairly common! For example, business logos are basically sigils.
All you need for this type of magic is a pen, paper, and a deep desire for something.
You can create a sigil by writing down your desire, then reducing it to a few letters by crossing out all the vowels and the repeating consonants. You then create a sigil out of the remaining letters. Here’s a more detailed guide on how to do it.
Or you can simply draw a sketch that represents your desire. Here’s what to do:
- Think of what you want. Really focus on it. But don’t just think with your mind; feel with your heart. Feel what it would be like to have what you desire. Anchor that feeling inside of you. You can also create an affirmation using a clear, short, and positive “I am” or “I have” statement in the present tense. For example, “I am healthy” (as opposed to “I’m not sick” or “I will be healthy”).
- As you’re thinking and feeling your desire, start drawing your sigil. You don’t have to be Picasso to do this! It doesn’t have to look like anything recognizable or pretty. Just allow your intuition to guide you and doodle until it looks like something that feels right. Remember: “Symbol is something that connects thinking and feeling.”
- Now sit with your sigil and contemplate on it. Let it saturate your consciousness. You can also meditate on it with your eyes closed. Visualize your sigil and focus on it. When your mind wanders, gently return your attention to the sigil. To help you focus, you can repeat your affirmation.
- After you’ve connected with your sigil and anchored it in your consciousness, release it! You can tear it into little pieces or burn it. Burning is more gratifying and symbolic, in my opinion. Just do it safely! By destroying your sigil, you’re symbolically releasing it into the universe. Then forget about it.
Make Sure You Let It Go
Releasing is the most crucial step of the process.
You’re releasing your attachment, your fear that your desire won’t come true, and the belief that you have to apply efforts for it to come true.
Now, I’m not saying that you never have to do anything — just sit and wait for success to come to you. There is some effort, especially when we’re talking about blogging success.
But the beautiful part is, when you’re doing what you’re meant to do, it doesn’t feel like an effort, work, or sacrifice. It comes naturally and joyfully. It’s like Oprah says: “When you find what you love to do, you won’t work a day in your life.”
So there is some inspired, joyful effort later. But initially, you have to detach from your symbol and your desire to allow the universe to create the most favorable circumstances for you.
Releasing the desire is that final step that so many people fail to take! And that’s why you’ll hear all these embittered stories from people that say that “manifestation doesn’t work,” “It’s all bs,” “I tried it and nothing happened,” etc.
You’ve got to LET IT GO if you want to see the results. I can’t stress this enough.
Trust that everything will manifest for your highest good, without having a specific idea of how your desire will come into reality.
And be open to the possibilities and opportunities that will start opening up.
